Worskshop Description
Have you ever looked at a complex ceramic piece and wondered how it was actually made? Most of us have a dream project saved on our phones that feels just out of reach because we simply do not know where to start. Welcome to The Adventure Workshop. Led by ceramicist Kim Press of Sailing Adrift Studios, this 3 session class is designed to stretch your abilities, push you outside the box, and teach you how to think like an architect in the clay. Instead of following a strict curriculum, you will bring your own ambitious project idea to the table. Over our 3 sessions together, we will completely reverse engineer your vision. We will break down the construction into steps, identify the potential failure points, and figure out the absolute best technical approach to bringing your project to life. This class is not about making safe, easy pots. This is an adventure. You will learn how to problem solve in real time, combine different throwing or hand building techniques, and build the confidence to tackle the complex projects you have been avoiding. The Details: Format: A 3 session creative problem solving and construction workshop. Prerequisites: Students must have a solid foundation in basic clay construction and feel confident working independently. You will need to provide your clay of choice.
Cancellation Policy
ALL SALES ARE FINAL. I understand that participating at a pottery studio includes the use of tools and equipment that could potentially be dangerous. As is the case with any pottery studio you enter, the risk of injury is always present and cannot be entirely eliminated. I acknowledge that I understand that myself or my child will be operating and using a pottery wheel and all the accompanying tools that go with it. I acknowledge that participation in pottery classes exposes me or my child to a possible risk of personal injury. I am fully aware of the risk and hereby release Enkindle Fire, LLC, Noemi Dengo, and Janna Oliver from any and all liability, negligence, or other claims arising from, or in any way connected with, participating in a pottery class. I shall not now, or at any time in the future, bring any legal action against Enkindle Fire, LLC, Noemi Dengo, and Janna Oliver, and that this waiver is binding on me, my heirs, my spouse, my children, my legal representatives, my successors, and my assigns. I realize that I (or my child) is participating in pottery classes at my own risk.
